Presentation:

George Skodras

George Skodras was born in Athens, Greece in 1987. With more than 15 years in illustration and over a decade of experience in the video game industry, he led marketing and creative teams at major AAA studios, shaping the visual identity and global campaigns of iconic franchises. Specialising in art direction and brand development, George combined strategic insight with strong creative vision to deliver impactful, player-focused content.

Now shifting focus to fine art, he is pursuing a lifelong passion for sculpting, painting, and photography—returning to the crafts that originally inspired a career in visual storytelling.

"My works are and have always been as much about the art

of creation as they are about the stories they tell.

That, defines my very identity as an artist and as a person."

The Approach:
Mixing traditional and modern art. Contemporary, yet almost primitive sculptures wander through paper.

"My path as an artist has been a blend of digital and tactile creation. My recent work reflects my life’s journey, blending traditional and digital mediums into something entirely unique."

Technical:

Sculptures

George uses various types of clay* as his main medium to shape the stories to tell. The Sculptures are created small in order to avoid excess texture details during the creation process while focusing only on the energy of the form. This is a core concept in his work.

*Future works might incorporate other materials such as plasticine,

wood or paper.

Gold Leaf

The use of gold leaf is critical as it helps to elevate and bring balance to his work. Specific shapes and designs are made to match perfectly each

art concept.

"I am destroying it, forming it, seeking all these imperfections that bring forward the raw feeling of gold."

Photography

Photo-shooting the sculptures and gold leaf work with mostly micro lenses and focus stacking them in his home studio.

"This is such a crucial stage in my work, making sure that I reveal all that is invisible to human eye."

Digital Composition & Print preparation

With multiple years of experience this step comes as second nature to George.

Cleaning up and compiling the shots together, clay and gold

become one.

Preparing the digital file for print, and making sure details and technicals requirements are met to highest standards.
